Anti-Idling Awareness Campaign and Competition

Competition Entries due: Monday, April 3

Did you know that idling vehicles contribute to air pollution and emit air toxins shown to be at elevated levels during drop-off and pick-up periods around school zones?

Children's lungs are still developing and when exposed to higher levels of pollutants they have an increased risk of developing respiratory problems and other health issues. To help reduce exposure and preserve a cleaner environment, OGS Green Schools is launching an anti-idling awareness campaign.  We will kick off with a "Stop Idling!" poster design contest.

Please click HERE for the competition information sheet. Alternatively, students can collect one from the main office or during art class where Ms. Gold will have some available. One winner from each grade will be selected who will each receive a $10 Cups & Cones gift card. All entries will be displayed around the school. Please encourage your kids to enter!
