A FUN AND SOCIAL EVENING
Please join us for one of Old Greenwich School PTA's favorite traditions! It is
an amazing opportunity to meet other parents in your child's grade in a relaxed
social setting. Begin your evening with fellow grade level parents at a small
group dinner and then "progress" on to cocktails and dessert at a grade-wide
party!

Progressive Dinner FAQ's
What is the Progressive Dinner? The OGS Progressive is Old Greenwich School
PTA's second largest fundraiser. Parents will purchase tickets (which are tax
deductible!) to attend the dinners and cocktail parties. Your contribution goes
directly to students, staff and the school in the form of curriculum enrichment,
teacher grants and school improvements.
When and Where? The OGS Progressive will be held on Saturday, May 31st.
The event runs from 6:00 pm until 10:30 pm and is hosted by Old Greenwich
School parents. Small group dinners are held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, after
which attendees progress to grade-wide cocktail parties from 8:30-10:30 pm.
What is the cost? Tickets are $110 per guest, $220 per couple. Tickets will go
on sale the week of March 31st. Ticket sales will close by EOD on May 12th.
How does it work? Parent volunteers will host either a small group dinner or a
cocktail party at their homes. The dinners are limited to parents whose children
are in the same grade as your child. The OGS Progressive Committee will
choose which parents attend each dinner. After dinner, parents “progress” by
walking, biking or Ubering to a grade-wide cocktail party, which is also hosted by
parent volunteers.
Can anyone host a Dinner or Cocktail Part? YES! This event cannot happen
without host volunteers. It’s also a great way to meet other parents in your grade.
Co-hosting with friends is another fun option! The style of the dinner is at the
discretion of the host (Takeout Taco Tasting, Backyard Hibachi, Alfresco Apps +
Eats, Pizza Party, Homemade Menu...whatever you want it to be!) The
cocktail parties will include drinks/cocktails & dessert!
What are the expected numbers for a Dinner or the Cocktail Party,
and can I co-host with a friend?
We will not have expected numbers until closer to the event, but below are some
approximate numbers. You are more than welcome to co-host, but you will also
need to host more guests at your dinner.
-Dinner (1 host): Est. 3-4 Couples (plus host)
-Dinner (2 hosts): Est. 5-6 couples (plus hosts)
-Cocktail Party: Est. 80-100 people max
What if I have children in more than one grade at OGS? Parents with more than
one child at OGS may request a grade preference for their small group dinner,
and we will do our best to accommodate that request. Those parents may attend
one or more cocktail parties for their children’s respective grades. For example,
parents with children in K, 2nd and 4th might attend a kindergarten dinner and
afterward attend both the 2nd and 4th grade cocktail parties!
Can I attend the Cocktail Party only? Yes, however the ticket price would be
the same. If one or both parents cannot attend a small group dinner, they are
encouraged to join their grade at the cocktail party later in the evening.
Do hosts need to buy tickets? Hosts are encouraged, but not required, to buy
tickets to The OGS Progressive. This is a fundraiser and 100% of the ticket sales
go towards our school. Your contribution goes directly to students, staff and the
school in the form of curriculum enrichment, teacher grants and school
improvements!
How will I know where to go? The Progressive Dinner committee will email
your dinner assignment and the addresses of the cocktail parties a few days
before the event!
